Trampoline at a club
Ready when: Jump and land softly (b2) done; the child can land softly and stand still.
What the coach teaches
A code of conduct first; jumping towards the cross on the bed with the body tight; stopping a bounce; getting off by sitting and sliding, never jumping; seat landing, front landing (arms in a diamond) and back landing; eyes on a fixed point; somersaults only with a coach qualified for them.
At home, safe only
The floor games from Shapes and balances (b1), Jump and land softly (b2) and Falling safely: back and side (b5); no home trampoline.
Ask the club
Whether a spotter stands at each side; whether there are safety platforms or mats at the ends and mats on the floor at the sides; how long a turn lasts; what trampoline qualification the coach holds.
What you can see from the side
The child stays in the middle of the bed and stops the bounce on a call.
Self-check what the coach confirms
The child stops a bounce in one contact 3 times in a row.
Stop and get a coach when
Back pain, a landing on the frame or springs, or a child jumping alone at home.
Intermediate is done when the coach confirms clean, consistent skills and routines.
