Drop-in, with a coach
Ready when: Pumping and kickturns in a small ramp (b7) done.
What the coach teaches
The drop-in from the tail in a small ramp: weight on the back foot pressing the tail onto the top of the ramp, then lean firmly forward onto the front foot, front arm and shoulder leading, eyes on the far side; no hesitation; the coach can steady the rider on small ramps; then the tail stall and nose stall (resting on the tail or nose at the top).
At home, safe only
Jump onto a still board (Jump on and body varial (b2)); fall and roll (Fall and roll (b3)).
Ask the club
A lesson or a park session with an instructor; the ramp size for first drop-ins.
What you can see from the side
The rider commits and rolls away.
Self-check what the coach confirms
5 drop-ins in a row ridden away.
Stop and get a coach when
A head knock; any fear that leads to hesitation.
