Defend, then answer
Ready when: Defence and pads, with a coach (b4) and Light contact with gloves (b9) done.
What the coach teaches
Mixing blocks, slips and steps, then answering at once as the other boxer pulls the fist back, first on pads, then in controlled light-contact drills.
At home, safe only
Slip, duck and step aside (b6), and shadow defence at the air: block or slip, then answer with a straight punch.
Ask the club
Helmet and mouthguard rules; how they move from single punches to combinations.
What you can see from the side
After a defence the boxer answers straight away instead of waiting.
Self-check what the coach confirms
In one drill round the boxer uses 3 different defences.
Stop and get a coach when
A touch knocks the head back, or any dizziness.
