Reading arrow flight
Ready when: Fixing the group (i1) started.
What the coach teaches
The ways an arrow can wobble in flight: up and down (porpoising), side to side (fishtailing), and gliding high or dropping (planing and diving). Each points to a problem with the nock point, the arrow's stiffness or the release.
At home, safe only
None; watching an instructor demonstrate is enough.
Ask the club
Whether the arrow spine and nock point have been set for this child's draw weight.
What you can see from the side
The arrow wobbling up and down or side to side in flight.
Self-check what the coach confirms
The child can describe which pattern they saw and what the instructor changed.
Stop and get a coach when
Arrows are cracked or bent.
