The space
A court of 23.77 m by 10.97 m for doubles, the same size as a tennis court; at home a wall, or a rope at net height across a smooth yard.

Practice kit first
A soft rubber air-filled ball (white as a rule; it should bounce 70 to 80 cm when dropped from 1.50 m), a soft tennis racket; for home a sponge ball and a light racket.
Safety
Space clear of other players; keep balls out of the way while waiting; shoes with grip; sun protection.
