Pitching and bunting
Ready when: Ground balls (i1) to Throw and relay (i3) done and a coach is present.
What the coach teaches
Pitching (the push from the legs and the arm action: a windmill in softball with a full circle of the arm, overhand in baseball) into the strike zone, over the plate between the batter's armpits and knees; bunting (a changed stance and grip to tap the ball a short way; practise it dry: bunt stance, drop the bat, sprint) and slap hitting.
At home, safe only
Catch and throw practice from Grip and throw at a target (b1) and Catch with two hands (b2); the bunt dry run; no pitching volume at home.
Ask the club
The pitch count and rest-day limits for the age, and which pitch types are allowed at each age.
What you can see from the side
A smooth, repeatable motion and no sore arm.
Self-check what the coach confirms
The coach marks a drop in accuracy only after a stated count, not early.
Stop and get a coach when
Soreness in the shoulder or elbow, or pain at night.
Intermediate is done when the child can field and throw to first in a small game.
