Put the phone down where you can see it. Tap Next with your thumb, or use the arrow keys.
Is the space marked?
A printed target face with scoring rings; a pencil; 10 sample shots drawn as dots on paper.
Three minutes to get warm.
Easy jogging on the spot, then arms and legs. How to warm up well is explained at workonfitness.com.
- Point to the rings: 10 in the middle, down to 1 on the outside.
- Score a dot that touches a line: it gets the higher ring.
- Circle all the dots and mark the middle of the circle: the group centre. Say which way it is off: "high and left".
Show it once from the front and once from the side, slowly. Then let your child try.
- Score 10 drawn shots by their ring.
- Add up the total.
- Find the group centre.
- Say which way the group is off.
How much: 10 shots
Touching the next ring counts higher
Score race
The rules
You draw a group of 10 shots; the child scores it before the timer runs out.
- Draw 10 dots on a target face
- Start a 1-minute timer
- The child writes the score of each dot and the total, and says which way the group is off
- 3 rounds
Fair play: The grown-up scores with 30 seconds.
- Points
- 1 point for each dot scored right; 2 points for the right total; 2 points for the right direction.
- Fouls
- That dot scores no points: a line shot given the lower ring; a dot skipped; a changed answer after the timer
- Win
- Beat your best from 3 rounds.
- 20
- 30
- 42
10 drawn shots scored correctly twice in a row.
End on one that works. If it was hard today, finish with the easier version.
Well played.
