  1. Stand facing the ring, feet shoulder-width apart.
  2. Hold the ball high above the head on the fingers of the shooting hand; the other hand steadies the side.
  3. Bend the knees and elbows together, then straighten both, sending the ball up high and in.
  4. Step in for the rebound if it misses.

Show it once from the front and once from the side, slowly. Then let your child try.

Three spots

The rules

Shoot from three spots in a row; a miss means start again.

  1. Mark three spots: close, halfway and the edge of the circle
  2. Shoot from the first spot; a goal moves you on to the next
  3. A miss: start again at the first spot next turn
  4. The first to score from all three wins the round. 3 rounds

Fair play: A grown-up shoots from one step further back at each spot.

Points
1 point for each goal; 3 bonus points for winning a round.
Fouls
The shot does not count: stepping off the spot; holding the ball longer than 3 seconds; pushing the ball from the chest instead of shooting from above the head
Win
The most points after 3 rounds.
