- Two poles (bottles)
- Cross lanes if the space allows
A lane of cones; players sit in alternate directions.
Three minutes to get warm.
Easy jogging on the spot, then arms and legs. How to warm up well is explained at workonfitness.com.
- Players crouch in a line, facing alternate ways.
- Walk up behind one, touch the back with an open hand and say "kho" clearly.
- That player rises and runs on to the next and does the same.
Show it once from the front and once from the side, slowly. Then let your child try.
- Rise on the signal and run.
- Give a simple kho: a smooth touch from behind and the word "kho".
- The next player rises and runs on.
- Time how fast the team passes kho along the lane.
How much: 5 relays
Touch, do not push
Kho relay
The rules
The team passes kho down the whole lane and back as fast as it can.
- The team crouches in its lane, facing alternate ways; one player stands at the start pole
- On "go", the runner gives kho to the first sitter, who rises and gives kho to the next, and so on to the far pole and back
- You time it in seconds
- 5 relays
Fair play: A team with fewer players runs a shorter lane.
- Points
- The score is the team's best time in seconds; lower is better.
- Fouls
- Add 3 seconds: a push instead of a touch; a kho given from the front; rising before the kho
- Win
- The faster team, or beat your best time.
- 40
- 30
- 22
8 of 10 khos given and taken with no push.
End on one that works. If it was hard today, finish with the easier version.
