A club, soft balls, a hoop, a partner beside the hoop with a bucket, a safe zone.
Three minutes to get warm.
Easy jogging on the spot, then arms and legs. How to warm up well is explained at workonfitness.com.
- Stand with the feet close together, the ball near the back foot, hands slightly ahead of it.
- Swing back to hip height only.
- Swing through and follow through fully toward the hoop; the ball pops up and rolls.
Show it once from the front and once from the side, slowly. Then let your child try.
- A narrow stance, hands slightly ahead of the ball.
- A half swing.
- A full follow-through so the ball lifts in an arc, flies a short way and runs.
How much: 10 chips, 3 rounds
Hands ahead, brush the ball
Chip and catch
