Setup · 1 minute

Is the space marked?

Warm up · 3 minutes

Three minutes to get warm.

Easy jogging on the spot, then arms and legs. How to warm up well is explained at workonfitness.com.

Show it · 1 minute
  1. Stand with feet about shoulder-width, toes a little out.
  2. Sit back and down as if onto a low chair, heels flat, knees following the toes, arms forward.
  3. Touch a cushion with your bottom and stand up tall.

Show it once from the front and once from the side, slowly. Then let your child try.

The skill · 8 minutes
  1. Start on the step.
  2. Listen for the number.
  3. Squat down to touch that many different cushions with the bottom, standing up tall between each.
  4. Get back to the step.

How much: 6 rounds

Knees point where toes point

The game · 5 minutes

Cushion dice

The rules

Roll a die for the number; smaller cushions earn more points because the squat is deeper.

  1. Roll the die
  2. Touch that many cushions with the bottom, standing tall between each
  3. Big cushion 1 point, small cushion or ball 2 points
  4. 6 rounds

Fair play: A grown-up holds the arms straight overhead.

Points
1 or 2 points for each cushion touched with a good squat.
Fouls
That touch does not count: knees falling inward; heels lifting; sitting down on the cushion instead of touching it
Win
Beat your best from 6 rounds.
