Is the space marked?
- A line on the wall (chalk or tape) at about knee height for the "tin"
- A target square above it
- The "T" on the floor (two lines crossing in the middle)
A racket or bat; a soft ball; cones.
Three minutes to get warm.
Easy jogging on the spot, then arms and legs. How to warm up well is explained at workonfitness.com.
- Hold the racket face up and tap the ball a little way up, again and again.
- Turn the racket over and tap with the other face (the backhand side), then alternate.
- Lay the ball on the strings and walk round the cones without dropping it.
Show it once from the front and once from the side, slowly. Then let your child try.
- Tap the ball up on the racket with short, even taps, forehand.
- Then backhand, then alternating.
- Carry the ball balanced on the strings round the cones.
How much: 5 tries
Soft hands, face the ball
Beat your record
