The tape line; a wall target.
Three minutes to get warm.
Easy jogging on the spot, then arms and legs. How to warm up well is explained at workonfitness.com.
- From en garde, advance: lift the front toes, step forward with the front foot, then bring the back foot the same distance.
- Retreat: step back with the back foot, then the front foot follows.
- Lunge: straighten the arm first so the spoon points at the wall target, then push off the back leg and step the front foot far forward.
- Recover: push back off the front foot into en garde.
Show it once from the front and once from the side, slowly. Then let your child try.
- Advance: front foot first, back foot follows.
- Retreat: back foot first, front foot follows.
- Extend the arm so the tip points at the target.
- Push off the back leg and lunge.
- Recover to en garde.
