- A service line on each side, 2 m from the net
- A circle about 1 m wide in each far corner (chalk or tape)
A large sheet of paper taped to a wall at head height; a line 3 m from the wall and another at 4 m; 10 shuttles or soft balls.
Three minutes to get warm.
Easy jogging on the spot, then arms and legs. How to warm up well is explained at workonfitness.com.
- Stand side-on to the wall: the shoulder of your other arm points at the paper.
- Lift the throwing hand up behind your head, elbow bent and up at shoulder height.
- Step toward the wall with the front foot and turn your chest to the wall.
- Throw overhead, letting go just past your head.
Show it once from the front and once from the side, slowly. Then let your child try.

The rules
A hit scores 1; a hit from a step farther back scores 2.
- Each player has 5 shuttles or soft balls

- Fouls
- No point for that throw: starting square-on, chest facing the wall; an underarm or side-arm throw; stepping over the line before letting go
- Win
- After 3 rounds, the player with more points wins.
